Welcome to Stockton Project

Are you seeking asylum and recently arrived in Stockton-on-Tees? Do you have questions about what services and facilities are available to people seeking asylum in the town?

Our Welcome Project aims to provide accessible information, connection to services and networks, and practical support, including signposting to immigration advice and ESOL, to help people navigate life in the UK.

Welcome sessions

Join one of our friendly Welcome Sessions, where we share information about services, opportunities and upcoming events in Stockton. We can also support you with signposting and referrals.

Orientation Walks

We hold regular small group walks around Stockton to help you find your way around the town and get to know the area.

We use our ‘Welcome to Stockton’ map to explain the different services and facilities.

Service Fairs

Working together with Stockton Borough Council, we hold Service Fairs where people seeking asylum and refugees can talk to many different services and organisations in one place.

There are community interpreters and connectors to help guide you to the information and service you need.

Living in the UK Workshops

Our Living in the UK Workshops help you to explore new systems, cultural differences and rights and responsibilities. They focus on health, laws, and parenting in the UK.

They are delivered in six languages by our team of Sessional Trainers who have direct experience of the asylum and immigration system.

The workshops were designed and developed by members of the Regional Refugee Forum and the North East Migration Partnership.

Welcome Active
