Action Asylum

The Action Asylum project connects people seeking asylum and refugees to volunteering opportunities with different organisations in Stockton and Teesside.

Volunteering with local people

Through the Action Asylum project, you can spend time helping organisations and volunteering with local people in many different ways: helping with tree planting and environmental conservation, supporting with events and festivals, supporting older people, and getting involved with community gardens.

“The changes since I started volunteering, the networks I have met, have yielded a lot of fruits. Now I’m involved with a lot of projects around Stockton. You think you’re going to go and do a task, but no, it actually introduces you to people and friends who are going to help you achieve your dreams and desires.” Shirley, Action Asylum volunteer
